Can you describe the area of mathematics or bioinformatics you’re focusing on, and what you hope to achieve through your research?

My research focuses on computational methods to analyze single-cell and spatial data, aiming to uncover molecular patterns that enhance disease prediction and advance personalized medicine.

What inspired you to pursue a career in bioinformatics or the mathematical sciences?

I was inspired by the potential of combining biology and data science to tackle complex challenges, and mentorship during interdisciplinary projects solidified my passion for bioinformatics.

If you could give advice to your younger self, what would it be?

To my younger self: Explore interdisciplinary fields early, stay curious, and don’t hesitate to seek guidance from mentors.

How was your AMSI BioInfoSummer experience?

AMSI BioInfoSummer was a fantastic opportunity to gain insights into cutting-edge bioinformatics, especially in whole-cell modeling and AI for genomics. I’d highly recommend it to anyone passionate about exploring emerging technologies.

You received an AMSI BioInfoSummer travel grant to attend in person. How did this grant impact your ability to participate fully?

The travel grant made it possible for me to attend in person, enabling deeper engagement through hands-on workshops and networking opportunities.

What was the most valuable experience or takeaway from AMSI BioInfoSummer?

The most valuable takeaway was connecting with researchers and gaining practical skills in analyzing large biological datasets, which sparked new ideas for my research.

Where do you see your journey in mathematical sciences taking you in the next 5–10 years?

In 5–10 years, I see myself contributing to computational biology as a researcher, applying innovative bioinformatics tools to solve real-world health challenges.

Is there anything else you’d like to share about your experience or feedback on AMSI BioInfoSummer or the travel grant?

I deeply appreciate the support from AMSI and the travel grant, which provided an enriching experience both academically and professionally.
