It’s Pi Day!
March 14 is Pi Day, as well as a special someones birthday (we’re looking at you Einstein), so join maths lovers around the world for a slice or two of your favourite pie or get creative with pi-ku.
Pi has been calculated to over one trillion digits beyond its decimal point. As an irrational and transcendental number, it will continue infinitely without repetition or pattern. While only a handful of digits are needed for typical calculations, Pi’s infinite nature makes it a fun challenge to memorise, and to computationally calculate more and more digits.

How good is your memory???
The official record for the most decimal places of Pi memorised is 70,000 by Rajveer Meen from VIT University, Vellore India. In 2013, Archie managed 100 at AMSI’s Pi Day celebrations.
