Targeting government, universities and industry, the Australian Academy of Science has unveiled a ten-year plan to strengthen Australian mathematics. Developed by the National Committee for Mathematical Sciences, the plan’s key recommendations include out-of-field teacher training, the reintroduction of university maths prerequisites and a national centre for mathematics research.
